The Morgan Street Jail, which sat just south of the interstate, and beside Oaklawn Cemetery, is fast being reduced to twisted steel and rubble. Right now it looks like what some of our major hurricanes left behind in 2004-5. First opened in 1964, this facility had seen better days when it was closed almost 5 years ago. The Florida Department of Transportation now owns the land. I hope big plans are in place for this prime downtown location to replace it with something much better for the citizens of Tampa.

Some things just need to be razed.
Hopefully, they'll not put up one of those beautiful concrete parking garages.
How about a zoo? What with all your raccoons and bats and stuffs?
Frank, thanks for the comment on my blog; don't know how you find the time to run three! You should go back to using those lovely old cameras. I have to say that I do not do darkroom, marriage many years ago put a stop to that. I put films out for processing and then scan the negatives. I guess there is a cost there that you don't have once you've bought the digital kit, but I'm only talking 15-20 films a year. I do do digital as well.
